Take a walk back in time to an old 1940’s saw mill underneath the commanding Mount Cougal. Explore the creek which flows into rock pools created from the force of the water over thousands of years.
The walk to the saw mill is short but pleasant and offers views of the creek and cascading water alongside the path. A small viewing platform reveals the cascades on the same level as the path, while two staircases lead down from the main path to another platform almost directly above the cascading creek and rock pools.
If seeing Cougal Cascades isn’t enough nature eye candy for you, the stunning scenic drive to get there, rolling through Currumbin Valley under the impressive sheer cliffs of Mt Cougal, makes you feel as small and insignificant as a guppy swimming near a breeching whale. It’s one of the best scenic drives on the Gold Coast.
Cougal Cascades is definitely one of the Gold Coast’s Hidden Gems!
